Lipica Stud Farm Day
On Sunday, 6 September 2026, you are warmly invited to the Lipica Stud Farm for one of the most beautiful equestrian events of the year. This festive day will be dedicated to the Lipizzan horse, equestrian tradition, and the connection between European stud farms.
This year’s honorary guests come from the Marbach Stud in Germany. The highlight of the day will be a special performance at the hippodrome featuring joint presentations by performers from Lipica and Marbach – a blend of white Lipizzan horses, the five horse breeds bred at Marbach Stud, elegance, trust, and outstanding equestrian expertise.
Experience a celebration of horses, heritage, and unforgettable moments in Lipica.
Visitors will enjoy a diverse programme throughout the day with experiences for all generations: self-guided visits of the estate, the stud farm, the Lipikum Museum and the Avgust Černigoj Gallery, the Lipica market, a presentation of the estate’s machinery, viewing the herd being released to pasture, a horseshoeing demonstration, children’s pony workshops, children’s creative workshops, the Meet the Lipizzan Horse programme, and more.
The highlight of the day will be a performance by the Lipica Riding School together with guests from Marbach at the hippodrome.
All activities, except carriage rides, are included in the admission ticket.

The Marbach Stud in the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg is considered the oldest state stud farm in Germany and boasts more than 500 years of horse-breeding tradition. Today, it combines rich heritage, professional expertise, and modern approaches to horse breeding and education. As honorary guests of the event, they will present themselves in Lipica and introduce visitors to the diversity of horse breeds bred at their stud farm.
