    Marcela Krinke Susmelj, Swiss Rider with Slovene Surname Wins Lipica Grand Prix Freestyle for Third Time

    Marcela Krinke Susmelj, the Swiss-rider-with-Slovene surname, and her horse Smeyers Sopran won the Grand Prix Freestyle to music in the FEI CDIW / CDI3* International World Cup Dressage Competition. In the most difficult of tests, which counts towards the World Cup, Krinke Susmelj impressed judges gaining 72.5% and securing first place.

    Four Charming Ladies Compete for First Place and World Cup Points Tomorrow

    Lipica Stud Farm is ready for tomorrow’s Grand Finale of the FEI CDIW / CDI3* International Dressage World Cup Tournament. At 2:30 p.m., 15 riders will compete for World Cup Points in the most demanding Grand Prix category, the Freestyle to Music Programme.

    Russian Competitor Tatiana Miloserdova Riding Awakening Wins Grand Prix

    Russian competitor Tatiana Miloserdova and her horse Awakening triumphed in the Grand Prix, the second day of the International Dressage Competition’s most difficult event, at Lipica Stud Farm. Scoring 69.38%, Miloserdova is also favourite to win Sunday’s World Cup scoring Grand Finale.

    Irish rider Anna Merveldt and her horse Idamantes win St. Georges

    Irish rider Anna Merveldt and her horse Idamantes took first place at St. Georges, the most demanding category on the first day of the International Dressage Tournament at Lipica Stud Farm. Her convincing performance resulted in achieving the result of 69.579%.

    Almost 40% more riders than last year competing at the World Cup in Lipica

    At Lipica Stud Farm, 26 May will mark the beginning of the traditional international dressage tournament, FEI CDIW / CDI3* / CDIYH / CDIJ / CDIY / CDIP / CDICh, which is part of the Dressage World Cup. The four days of competition will see the performances of 75 riders and 101 horses from 15 different countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Greece, Croatia, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Russia, Slovenia and Switzerland. They will also be joined by competitors from more distant countries, such as Brazil and New Zealand.

    The Day of the Lipizzaner – a Remarkable Tribute to Lipica and its Lipizzaners’ 436-yearlong Heritage

    Lipizzaner beauty, elegance and nobility impressed a large number of visitors to the Day of the Lipizzaner organised by Lipica Stud Farm and the Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Association to mark the 436th anniversary of the establishment of Lipica Stud Farm and its birthing of Lipizzaner Breeding.

    The Day of the Lipizzaner on Sunday, 22 May, will be a tribute to 436 years of the Lipica Stud Farm and Lipizzaner tradition

    19 May marks 436 years since the Habsburg Archduke Charles II, son of Emperor Ferdinand I, purchased the Lipica estate from the Bishop of Trieste. This was the foundation of the future stud farm in Lipica. The day also counts as the start of breeding the Lipizzaner horse breed. Lipica Stud Farm and the Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Association will pay tribute to this historical event with the Day of the Lipizzaner on Sunday, 22 May.

    Special Advantages for Visitors to the Lipica Stud Farm, Park of Military History Pivka and Škocjanske jame Regional Park

    In keeping with the Cooperation Agreement concluded between the Park of Military History Pivka, Škocjanske jame Regional Park, and Lipica Stud Farm, a special advantage is available for visitors of either park. From 16 May 2016, people who have visited either park can show their ticket – purchased within the last 3 months – at the entrance to Lipica Stud Farm, to take advantage of a 15% discount on tickets to the Stud Farm. Similarly, visitors to Lipica Stud Farm can show their ticket, purchased within the last 3 months, for a 15% discount on tickets to see the museum collections and exhibitions at the Park of Military History.
