Yesterday, Marcela Krinke Susmelj, a Swiss national with a Slovene surname, and her horse Smeyers Molberg became the great winners of the International dressage competition for the World Cup - FEI CDI3*–W at Lipica Stud Farm.

Today, the traditional international dressage competition FEI CDI3*–W/ CDIJ/CDIY/CDICh/CDIP/CDIYH, the World Cup of dressage, is starting at Lipica Stud Farm.

The most beautiful Lipizzaner horses of Lipica Stud Farm and the Slovenian Association of Lipizzaner Breeders were the stars of the Day of the Lipizzaner, which took place yesterday, 21 May, organised to celebrate the 437th anniversary of both the Lipizzaner breed and Lipica Stud Farm.

On Sunday, 21 May, the most beautiful Lipizzaners of Lipica Stud Farm and the Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Association will be the main stars of the Day of the Lipizzaner celebration, which is a tribute to the Lipizzaner’s and Lipica Stud Farm’s 437th birthday.

On Saturday, 13 May, on Grand Square in Trieste, our elegant white Lipizzaners from Lipica Stud Farm joined the celebration of the 300th birthday of the Habsburg Empress Maria Theresa, where numerous visitors admired the Lipizzaner tandem carriage.

With the Alpe Adria Dressage Qualifier the previous weekend, this year’s equestrian competitions at Lipica Stud Farm began. In a relaxed atmosphere and mostly sunny weather, 44 riders from Slovenia, Italy, Austria, and Croatia with 47 horses performed at the Lipica hippodrome.

Alpe Adria Dressage Trophy Qualifier runs from Friday 5 May to Sunday 7 May and will be the first in a series of equestrian competitions at Lipica Stud Farm in 2017. Here, the youngest and aspiring riders in the A category will perform, followed by more challenging tasks up to the S category.
