    The Slovenian Armed Forces and Colorado National Guard renovated the stable at Bile

    Young horses from the Lipica Stud Farm used to be bred in dislocated units of the Stud Farm for centuries. One of them was the Bile estate, mentioned in the historical sources already in the 18th century. Part of the former stable for the Lipizzaners at Bile was renovated and reconstructed in June and July by the Slovene Armed Forces and the Colorado National Guard.

    Lipizzaner toy-horses in Tokio

    Thanks to the Slovenian ambassador in Tokio Ms. Helena Drnovšek Zorko Lipizzaner toy-horses can be found also in Tokio. Where exactly? At the JAL Foundation headquarters, zen buddhist temple in Kyoto, Ursaneke tea-ceremony school and at the Foreign Ministry of Japan.

    Notice for visitors: The road to the Valley of Our Lady of Lourdes will be closed till the end of October

    We regret to inform our visitors that the road to the Valley of Our Lady of Lourdes will be temporarily closed till the end of October. Due to a series of issues, we must perform operational maintenance and reconstruction of the waste water treatment system. The road to the Valley of Our Lady of Lourdes will be open as soon as possible, presumably at the end of October. However, the road to the Valley will be open on Saturday, August 15th.

    Lipica Stud Farm successfully hosted the World Cup driving event CAI3*

    The final day of the three-star driving event at the Lipica Stud Farm was concluded successfully with the cones competition in the main arena. The temperatures were higher than the previous days, when the dressage test and marathon were scheduled, but all horses were fit.

    Avgust Černigoj in the Škofja Loka castle

    On June 22nd the art exhibition ČERNIGOJ / THEATER, Avgust Černigoj – in the network of European Constructivism will be opened in the art gallery of the Škofja Loka castle. Among others three works of art from the Avgust Černigoj Art Gallery in Lipica will be presented in Škofja Loka until February 15th 2016.

    The second gold for Marcela Krinke Susmelj in Lipica

    The Swiss rider with the Slovenian surname Marcela Krinke Susmelj is the winner of today's Grand Prix freestyle to music at the FEI CDI3*–W/CDIJ/CDIY/CDIP/CDIYH dressage competition in Lipica. With her 14-year old gelding Smeyers Molberg she impressed the ground jury and concluded her test with the result of 74,926 %.

    This wonderful horse – celebrating the 435th anniversary of the Lipica Stud Farm

    Selected Lipizzaner stallions were the stars of the today’s Day of the Lipizzaner, celebrating the 435th anniversary of the Lipica Stud Farm. The story of the Lipizzaner and the Lipica Stud Farm begun in 1580. On May 19th 1580 the Habsburg Archduke Charles II, son of the Habsburg Emperor Ferdinand I, purchased the Lipica estate from the Bishop Nicolo' de Coret.

    Celebrating the 435th anniversary of the Lipica Stud Farm: The largest renovation project of the European state stud farms in last decades will begin soon

    With the Day of the Lipizzaner we celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Lipica Stud Farm today, but the largest and most important part of celebration will begin the next weeks – with the next phase of a vast and long expected renovation of the Lipica Stud Farm, worth 5,6 million euro.
