An octagonal tower from 1857 is a technical monument built to honour the South railway in Sežana and the visit of Emperor Francis Joseph I.
It was named after a famous powerful family Pollay from Sežana.
The building used to have a silo and a well carved in the depth.
The house in which the poet Srečko Kosovel was born can be found in the renovated building of the People's University Sežana. Today, there is a memorial room where the great poet is presented with slides from the Karst, music and recorded recitations of his poems. A stony memorial plaque is mounted on the building and his statue is placed in front of the house.
The walking path of the poet Srečko Kosovel dedicated to him starts in front of this building. The path runs along earth tracks and paths, through Karst pine tree forests, Karst commons and past vineyards. It ends in the village of Tomaj near the home of Srečko Kosovel.
In his home there is a memorial room where his works and personal items are displayed. The poet lived for some time in Tomaj and also died there.
Thousands of people come to honour the great poet each year at the cemetery where the entire Kosovel family is buried.
