Summer Friday Music Evenings – Jazz Evening with the Just Friend Quartet
The Just Friend Quartet is a classical, traditionally oriented jazz combo that cultivates and reinterprets the sound of legendary saxophonist Sonny Rollins‘ quartets from the 1950s. They have elevated their performances of rearranged standards with original compositions written in the traditional jazz spirit. In 2018, the quartet released a CD titled ‚Sitting in the shade‘ featuring original music by pianist Marko Petrušič, followed by the album ‚Swinging all the way‘ in 2020 and the album ‚Light blue morning daylight‘ in 2022, which was influenced by the theme of the Covid-19 pandemic. With their extensive repertoire, including 50 standards in addition to their original music, they can cater to a wide range of events, from business meetings and picnics to larger festivals.
