Carriage Ride
People harnessed horses long before they first rode them in prehistoric times, gaining invaluable help with everyday tasks. The invention of the carriage transformed many other areas of life as well: it allowed people to cross great distances quickly while carrying larger loads. For centuries, Lipica carriages travelled between Trieste and Vienna, completing the entire journey in only three days.
At Lipica, kings and queens, distinguished guests and foreign diplomats once travelled by carriage. Today, this enchanting experience is open to everyone who loves horses, nature and the gentle rhythm of hooves echoing through the stud farm. The ride is suitable for all ages, and our carriage drivers are always pleased to share a secret or two about the Lipica estate along the way. At Lipica, you can enjoy a carriage ride for 5 or 7 people.
Prices and reservations Carriage rides are available from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 12:00 and between 16:00 and 18:00. Carriage rides are not available on Mondays. Carriage rides are not available in case of rain. In the event of extreme heat, carriage rides operate according to an adjusted schedule.
